Bible Based Christian Money Management

According to Howard Dayton, an experienced lecturer in personal finance, the Bible has more written about your money than any other subject! Bible based Christian money management will therefore explain how the problem of money is more than just getting enough of it--it is a matter of freedom, mind, spirit, and of concern to God.

The fact that Jesus spoke about money so often was an eye-opening concept to me at first. He must have known that a lot of people would have difficulty managing their money. It was a very important issue in his day, and it still is. By studying the Bible, we, too, can know His perspective on this critical area of life.

It should not be so difficult for Christians to turn to the Bible for help with their finances. They already turn to it for every other concern. It is the blueprint for living. What better place is there to learn to work hard, develop skills, be thrifty, avoid debt, and save?

The world would have you believe that the more possessions you acquire, the greater your satisfaction and peace will be. The scriptures teach that as you learn to manage your money and possessions better, you can be happy in any situation:

11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Philippians 4:11-12
